How your engine gets multiple lives...
One of the most expensive technical problems that can damage your engine(s) is extensive cavitation!
In some cases, even tiny cracks may result in such severe injury to the cylinder head that it must be replaced. Slowly but surely coolant water affects the rims and inner linings of your engine exhaust valve pockets. Difficult to trace, even more difficult to repair. The only solution seems to make repairs with an oversized valve seat! Unfortunately, it’s no longer possible to mount an oversized valve seat when the pocket is too seriously damaged! But...
A unique method
CF Techniek B.V., based in Krabbendijke in the Netherlands, has developed a special solution* that will fully address both the problem of severe cavitation damage and the issue of “what to do after the 3rd oversize seat?” as well.
CF Techniek can manage this in a very unique way, saving you time and money!
The process is simply described by fitting specifically designed and produced valve seat inserts, also called ‘pocket sleeves’ inside the damaged valve seat pocket.
First the cavitation damage has to be removed during a CNC machined process to which the exact centre line of the valve guide functions as the major reference line for the CNC machining procedure. The sleeves are manufactured out of a highly durable and corrosion and heat resistant alloy which has been intensively tested in several makes and types of diesel engines.
However, thorough research before doing the repair determines the individual strategy to follow in order to assure success!

CF Techniek B.V. has invented this unique method in cooperation with several (marine) diesel engineers and has been accredited by Lloyd’s Register and Bureau Veritas.
